Easy to Grow - Lucky Bamboo Plant

The lucky bamboo plant has been increasing in popularity over the past few years. This is in part due to the increase in interest in feng shui decorating. A lucky bamboo is known as a symbol of success and luck. The plant, considered luckiest when received as a gift, grows rapidly. This rapid growth combined with strength and fortitude is the reason that many people consider it to be a lucky bamboo plant. The plant requires little maintenance and grows very easily even for people who know little to nothing about plants.

The name lucky bamboo plant hints that the plant is a bamboo. In fact, it is not a bamboo at all. The technical name for the plant is Dracaena Sanderia. It is called a lucky bamboo plant because of its resemblance to bamboo. When you are deciding a place for the lucky bamboo plant inside your home, be aware that it can be poisonous to pets. If you have pets inside your home, it is best to place the plant in a place where pets cannot get to it. The top of a high shelf or armoire is a good place for lucky plant in a home with pets.

You should also consider light and temperature when deciding where to place the lucky plant. The plant does not survive well in extreme situations. Avoid putting it on or near a windowsill where it will receive hours of direct sunlight. The plant also prefers not to be too dry or too cold. The plant will survive just fine in normal everyday home conditions.

For someone who is not very adept at taking care of plants, the lucky bamboo plant is a nice plant to have. It is easy to care for and provides lots of luck for its owner. What more could one want in a plant?
