Nothing Says It’s Time for the Holidays Like a Balsam
Wreath
When the
Christmas season comes upon us there is just so much to do. One of
the most enjoyable activities of the season is to decorate your
home.
There are so many different decorations
available these days that it can seem a little overwhelming. But
the simple, Christmas wreath never looses its charm. Balsam is a
favorite material for wreath making because of its wonderful
fragrant scent. There is just nothing like the smell of balsam to
get you in the holiday spirit. Nothing says "I'll Be Home For The
Holidays" like a balsam wreath.
Balsam wreaths have become so popular
that many people will buy them as gifts. One of the most popular
locations in the U.S. to purchase from is the state of Maine. There
are many wreath companies from this state because, well, they just
have great smelling balsam. Most of Maine's wreath companies make
handcrafted wreaths, for example Wreaths From Maine will make you a
double-sided wreath, a traditional balsam fir wreath or a blueberry
wreath just to name a few.
Of course if you are more the crafty type you
can make your own balsam wreath. Even if you don't have a balsam
fir in your yard, you just need some evergreen boughs. The
materials you will need are a wreath frame or a wire hanger will
work just as well, balsam boughs and wire.
To make the wreath you take your wreath frame or
shape your wire hanger and attach one bough at a time with the
wire. The wreath will look more full and professional if you layer
the boughs. So put one layer down and then on top of that put
another layer. Stop when it has the full look you want in a
wreath.
The fun part is adding any decorations you would
like. For example you could add small Christmas tree balls, ribbon,
cranberry, strings of popcorn, even small wooden toys are adorable
on a wreath. Try a miniature toy train set or gingerbread dolls.
The possibilities are endless. But most of all enjoy your wreath
and enjoy your Christmas.
