Making A Floral Wreath Can Bring Out The Creative Genius In Anyone

No matter what time of the year it is, there is nothing that can add warmth and charm to a room like a floral wreath. One of the best things about floral wreaths is that they come in so many colors, styles and materials. You can have a wreath made of dried flowers, silk flowers or real flowers, just to name a few. The fun things you can add to a wreath make them even more charming and versatile.

If you are interested in making a floral wreath for yourself or as a gift there are some materials you will need, but don’t worry, it is not hard to make a wreath and it is a lot of fun.

The materials you will need are a wreath frame; floral wire; floral tape; flowers of your choice; hot glue gun; any embellishments you would like to add such as ribbons, bows, wooden or plastic decorations, basically, whatever you would like to add to the wreath.

The trick to having a nice looking wreath is to make sure it looks full enough. Therefore you want to construct your wreath in layers.

Here is an example. You want to make a rose floral wreath. Think about the “background” of the wreath. In other words what are the roses going to sit on? A grass or moss background would be beautiful. So start with that layer, you may need two layers of grass or moss; you can determine how much you need. Then you can put the roses on top of the greenery. Do you see how adding the green color will produce a much more attractive wreath then just a bunch of roses?

Some other ideas to think of for a wreath are to add characters such as Winnie the Pooh and all his friends for a child’s room. Perhaps you could add colored Easter eggs for a spring wreath. You are limited only by your imagination. You could even make a base wreath of neutral colored flowers and hand different decorations on it for the different seasons of the year. What a great gift that would make!
